Popper Grabs TML Best Batter Award for April Sunday, May 1st , 2061 John Popper received the Thurman Munson League Batter of the Month trophy earlier today for his efforts at the plate this last month. "He might be getting older," Jacksonville's manager told reporters, "But he's been around long enough to know what it takes to put a stretch such as this together... and he doesn't keep that to himself. He's always talking to the younger guys in the clubhouse helping 'em any way they'll let him. John's value to our team goes farther than the numbers he puts up on the field." To win the honor Popper put up a .425 batting average, 10 home runs, 26 RBIs and scored 29 times in April. |
