Blast Off! 3 HR for Timmermans
Wednesday, April 27th , 2061
Edwin Timmermans went on an explosive hitting spree against the San Francisco Earthquakes at Arnold Field, launching a trio of blasts to help the Jacksonville Pilots win, 12-1.
The left fielder finished 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 7 RBI.
"It was just one of those days," Timmermans said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball."
San Francisco skipper Bill DesMarais said Timmermans was "locked-in."
"We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him."
Edwin Timmermans hit a solo-shot off Cesar Rios in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Cesar Rios in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Rosario Lulli in the 5th and flied out in the 7th.
This year, Timmermans is batting .303 with 23 hits, 9 home runs, 21 RBIs, 7 walks, .357 OBP and has scored 20 runs.
