Bison Mares Suffers 2-Game Suspension
Wednesday, April 20th , 2061
Bighorn Bison left fielder Tony Mares was suspended 2 games by the league commissioner today, a day after arguing his ejection during a game against the Pennsylvania Butterflies.
"I think the 2 games are a little harsh," Mares said.
He was ejected by plate umpire for arguing balls and strikes.
After his ejection, Mares went into the dugout, then came back on the field, argued with the umpire and had to be restrained by coaches and teammates. The suspension was issued for "unbecoming conduct and returning to the field of play after being dismissed."
This season, Mares has posted a batting average of .200 with 7 hits in 35 at-bats, 1 home run and 4 RBIs. He has also scored 5 runs, walked 3 times and compiled a .282 OBP.
