Setback for Vancouver and Juan Araque
Friday, November 26th , 2060
All is not well with Juan Araque in his recovery from a torn labrum.
The 27-year-old Pioneers catcher has already reached some significant steps in his rehabilitation, but his manager said that the team will continue to be cautious with Araque and take his progression one day at a time, especially after the setback yesterday.
"Yesterday he was feeling good but he didn't do a lot on the field," he said. "Today he was supposed to be on the field doing light stuff and then gradually start working right back up. I think he overdid it."
A post-workout examination revealed that Araque had re-injured himself and would now miss at least 2 weeks because of it.
In 433 games, Araque is a lifetime .288 hitter. He has knocked in 177 runs, scored 145 times, hit 26 home runs, walked 123 times and has an on-base percentage of .353.
