Chivers's Treatment Not Going Well, Suffers Setback Friday, October 15th , 2060 Stephen Chivers is hurting again, just a few days into his treatment for a herniated disc. Apparently the injury worsened, so the Honu sent the 29-year-old reliever back to the doctors for reexamination. Chivers told them that the pain had gotten much worse in recent days. It was confirmed that the injury was indeed much more severe that first thought. He was sent to a specialist, who felt that treatment would be longer than first diagnosed. Chivers will now miss a minimum of one week. For the year, Chivers has 46 relief appearances and a 5-3 record with no saves. He has logged 71.1 innings and allowed 72 base hits. Opposing clubs have put up a .262 batting average against him. Chivers has rung up 58 strikeouts, surrendered 26 walks and fashioned a 4.79 ERA. |
