Butterflies Martinez Suffers Setback Tuesday, October 5th , 2060 All is not well with Fidel Martinez in his recovery from a fractured foot. The 22-year-old Butterflies right fielder has already reached some significant steps in his rehabilitation, but his manager said that the team will continue to be cautious with Martinez and take his progression one day at a time, especially after the setback yesterday. "Yesterday he was feeling good but he didn't do a lot on the field," he said. "Today he was supposed to be on the field doing light stuff and then gradually start working right back up. I think he overdid it." A post-workout examination revealed that Martinez had re-injured himself and would now miss at least 5 weeks because of it. Fidel Martinez is expected to undergo surgery in Philadelphia(Pennsylvania) tomorrow. Looking at his season stats, Martinez has compiled a .242 batting average and a .314 on-base percentage, while hitting 17 home runs and driving in 69 runs. |
