Slice End Locey Streak
Monday, September 6th , 2060
The Manhattan Slice got more than the 12-1 victory at Copps Park -- they also put an end to the 21-game hitting streak of Walnut Creek Warriors second baseman Jason Locey by holding him without a hit in 1 at-bat.
After the game, Locey seemed more concerned with his team taking the loss than with the demise of his streak.
"I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit," he said. "I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today."
So far this year in 117 games, Locey is hitting .314 with 6 home runs, 51 RBIs and 70 runs scored.
