Smith Hit Streak Reaches 25 Games
Monday, August 23rd , 2060
The streak is alive and well -- at least for today.

Isaiah Smith did it again, bashing 1 hit in the contest at Golden Gate Park. For the last 25 games in a row, the 27-year-old shortstop has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Maple Marauders beat the San Francisco Earthquakes, 9-5.

"I'm happy I kept the streak going," Smith told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Maple clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day."
Isaiah Smith flied out in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Juan Hernandez in the 5th and flied out in the 8th.

In this current campaign Smith is hitting at a .304 clip with 10 home runs and 44 RBIs.
