Collins, Hursh Suspended for Fracas Monday, September 24th , 2057 Yesterday at Mount Royal Grounds Quentin Collins and Mike Hursh got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Montreal Mounties and Bloomington Blazers. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Collins will have to sit out 5 while Hursh would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. This year Collins has hit at a .235 pace and produced 54 RBIs, 25 home runs and scored 63 runs. Currently Hursh has a record of 10-11 with 160 strikeouts and 69 walks in 216 innings and a 3.12 ERA. |
