Rowdy Players Suspended by League
Tuesday, August 26th , 2064
If there wasn't a history between Brad Coates of El Paso and Jared Simms of Chicago, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 9 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Coates said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
Looking at his present stats, Coates has compiled a .294 batting average in 111 games with a .368 on-base percentage, while hitting 25 home runs and driving in 76 runs.
His stats sheet for the year shows Simms has managed to hold opponents to a .318 average in 18 relief appearances, while putting up 0-0 record with 41 strikeouts and 19 walks in 53 innings. He has a 6.11 ERA with 1 save.
