Helt Launches 3 HR for Hornets Tuesday, June 10th , 2064 Eureka Hornets first baseman Robby Helt sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Milwaukee Millers, Helt told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Helt pushed the Hornets past the Millers, 7-6. To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Helt told reporters after the game. Robby Helt hit a solo-shot off Drew Young in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Drew Young in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Drew Young in the 4th, singled in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. This season, Helt has delivered 80 hits in 234 at-bats for a .342 average with 9 home runs. He is getting on base at a .397 clip and his totals also include 37 RBIs and 44 runs scored. This year Helt has played in 56 games. |
