Jones Blasts 3 out of the Park Sunday, June 8th , 2064 Today was a special one for Jared Jones of the Montreal Mounties as he slammed three home runs in the 9-6 Mounties win over the Vancouver Pioneers. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Montreal first baseman collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 6, and scored 4 runs in the contest at "The Fort" at B.C. Place. Jared Jones hit a solo-shot off Jeff Prudhomme in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jeff Prudhomme in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Jeff Prudhomme in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and doubled in the 9th. Jones is currently batting .374 with 8 home runs, 41 RBIs and 33 runs scored. He has 77 hits in 206 at-bats. |
