Place, Jared Jones added another game to his hitting streak -- the Montreal first baseman has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Mounties, as they fell, 12-1, to the Vancouver Pioneers. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Vancouver manager Naofumi Tanaka said later. "I'll let him get 2 hits in 2 at-bats if it means we get a win." Jared Jones grounded out in the 1st, walked in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and walked in the 8th. At the moment, Jones is batting .363 with 5 home runs and 35 RBIs. He has played in 54 games and scored 29 times. |
