Hornets Win ABL Championship Crown
Monday, November 13th , 2062
A celebratory mood filled the air as the Eureka Hornets closed out the season with a 6-2 victory over the Walnut Creek Warriors at Castlerock Field to capture the ABL Championship, 4-3.
Giving the Warriors credit for a hard-fought series, Hornets players said they believed throughout the postseason that their "destiny" was to be crowned ADULT BASEBALL LEAGUE champions.
"We felt like this was our year all season long," said left fielder Mark Bradford, who was named series MVP. "It was our destiny to win it and we did."
It was the 4th in franchise history. During the Thurman Munson League Tim Ervin Division regular season Eureka put up a 90-72 record and finished first.
"They're the champions and they deserve it," said a dejected Walnut Creek manager Miguel de la Rosa. "We played good ball, they just played better than us."
