Douglass Goes Long 3 Times
Friday, June 2nd , 2062
Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Danny Douglass can celebrate.
The Bighorn Bison first baseman powered three into the stands at "The Fort" at B.C. Place against the Vancouver Pioneers.
"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Douglass told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one."
In all, he was 4-for-5 as the Bison toppled Vancouver by a score of 11-7, knocking in 4 runs and scoring 4 times.
"He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Bighorn manager Carlos Esparza said. "He gets the ball up in the air."
Danny Douglass hit a two-run home run off Jeff Prudhomme in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jeff Prudhomme in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Kenny Poor in the 8th.
Douglass on the season is batting .318 with 12 home runs. His totals include 36 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has played in 55 games.
