Simmons Batters Dallas Big Time
Thursday, May 4th , 2062
After his 5-hit effort at Sasquatch Field at Brewbaker Family Memorial Stadium was tarnished by Seattle's 11-9 loss to the Dallas Texans, catcher Steve Simmons told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win."

He didn't get the win, but the 24-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Texans.

"His swing is getting there," said Sasquatch skipper Alim bin Umar after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Steve did that to perfection and we wasted it."

Steve Simmons singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th and singled in the 8th.

In the current season, Simmons has put up a .340 batting average with 33 hits, 4 home runs, 15 runs batted in and scored 11 runs.
