Robinson III Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Vancouver Monday, May 1st , 2062 For 25 straight games, Frank Robinson III tried to ignore his hitting streak. It wasn't easy. Well, the 20-year-old Maple Marauders center fielder can forget about it now -- it's over, courtesy of the Vancouver Pioneers. The Pioneers held him hitless in 3 at-bats at Magnificent Marauders Mansion and snapped his consecutive-game hitting string at 25. There was at least one good note to the end of the streak, however, as the Marauders took the win by the score of 4-3. "I tried to ignore it for weeks, but you guys in the media wouldn't let me," he joked with reporters after the game. "I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet now." So far this year in 12 games, Robinson III is hitting .340 with 1 home run, 8 RBIs and 10 runs scored. |
