Tight Tilt Goes to Cardinals, 2-1
|
Montreal Cardinals starter Jeff Wyzykowski was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Baie-Comeau All Blacks, 2-1. Wyzykowski went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 2-2. The Cardinals sit in last place in the Pete Rose Little League Roger Clemens Division with a record of 18-26.
Danny Milio struck a blow for the Cardinals in the bottom of the first when he hit a 2-run home run. It put his team ahead, 2-0. For the game, Milio went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Afterward, Cardinals manager Hector Corretjer was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
