Lerna left-hander Aaron Sewell pitched his team to a shutout win, 4-0, over the Riverside Poly. With the win, the Lions improved to 19-23.

The result might have been different for Lerna, had it not been for Robby Soto, the 17-year old center fielder . Soto stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Lerna up, 2-0. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Lerna manager Morgan Tompsett.
