Mavericks Turn Away Tornadoes, 2-1
|
The El Paso Mavericks got a magnificent effort from pitcher David Gladden, who kept Kansas City hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Mavericks win at Debris Field. At 34-38, El Paso is in 4th place in the Roberto Clemente League Mike Brouillette Division.
Tim DePascale, who finished 4th in the RCL in doubles with 47 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. DePascale contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put El Paso up, 1-0.
"Every play was important. Every out was important," said Mavericks manager Lorenzo Castillo.
