Cardinals Throttle Patriots, 6-1
|
The inspired effort of George Washington second baseman Jon Regan was not enough to prevent a 6-1 loss to the Montreal Cardinals. Regan was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. Montreal reliever Jason Allen was the winner. His record is now 3-0. Alvin Brereton took the loss. With the win, the Cardinals have a record of 17-21.
Making an impact for the home team was Chad Christianson. In the bottom of the sixth, the 16-year old catcher had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 2-1, Cardinals.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Cardinals manager Hector Corretjer, "I like our chances."
