Cardinals Stay Hot with Extra-Inning Win
The Montreal Cardinals and Tenafly Tigers needed extra innings at Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds to determine a winner.

The bats were quiet at Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds. But 16-year old third baseman Paul Ochs produced just enough offense to carry the Cardinals past the Tenafly Tigers, 3-2, in 11 innings. Ochs was 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Reliever Connor Bedford picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Paul Massaro took the loss.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Montreal center fielder Joe Peckford, facing Brett Brasher, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Cardinals the 3-2 win.

"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Tim Graham, the Montreal skipper.

The Cardinals now own a record of 18-18.
