A nice crowd turned out to see the Montreal Cardinals and Terra Linda Trojans clash at Ottawa HS Grounds.
The Montreal Cardinals easily defeated the Terra Linda Trojans, 12-4, at Ottawa HS Grounds, with right fielder Leith Lepine a main contributor to the win. He was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Montreal. The 5th-place Cardinals are now 16-20, the Trojans 16-20.
Chad Christianson had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the sixth for Montreal. With the bases loaded and the Cardinals leading 4-3, he hit a sacrifice fly.
In postgame comments to the Montreal Today, Christianson said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
