Montreal Cardinals starter Terry Spotton was in fine form. He led his team to victory over the Downsview Mustangs, 7-1. Don Snook collected save number 2. The 5th-place Cardinals now have a win-loss record of 17-18.

The Cardinals got a big at-bat from center fielder Joe Peckford. For the game, Peckford was 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Montreal a 1-0 lead.

"Terry has the heart of a gladiator," said Montreal manager Tim Graham.
