Earthquakes Turn Back Eclipse, 4-3
The San Francisco Earthquakes besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Chicago third baseman Jason Shannon by beating the Eclipse, 4-3, at Golden Gate Park. Shannon went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. At 41-30, the Earthquakes find themselves in second place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.

Junior Leeney was 2 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI for San Francisco. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jason Beeks. It was his 62nd RBI of the season.
