Longman belts 2 home runs, Leads Panthers to Win
|
Panthers left fielder Bob Longman left his mark on his team's 18-6 win over the San Marin Mustangs. Longman, who is tied for 2nd in the HALL with a 1.488 OPS, went 3-4 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while scoring 4 times and driving in 6 for Pleasantville in the contest. Justin Hester earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 4-0. Pleasantville is third in the Hank Aaron Little League Bob Gibson Division with a record of 17-17.
Jason Hicks, who leads the HALL in runs scored with 59, chipped in a run-scoring walk for Pleasantville in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 2 home runs, 1 single, 3 runs scored, and 3 RBI.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Hicks told the Pleasantville News.
