Poly Saddle Mustangs with 4-2 Loss

The Riverside Poly got a good effort from starter Chris Howard in defeating the San Marin Mustangs at Apollos Ballpark. The final score was 4-2. Howard got the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed 3 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. Howard allowed no earned runs. David Eiseman got the save, the 5th for him this season.
One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning. Facing San Marin hurler Bill Thomson, Brian Steward, who is the 3rd-best prospect in the Poly organization, hit a 2-run double. The Poly went on to win.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Steward told the Riverside Citizen.
Riverside now has a 3-game win streak.
