Lions Even Record with 4-2 Victory
The Lerna Lions defeated the George Washington Patriots, 4-2, at Ballpark of Ecatepec HS. Lerna was led by 16-year old second baseman Joe Schuster, who went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win was credited to Carlos Rivas in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Zack Kintzer took the loss. Tom Goggin picked up his 4th save of the season.

Center Fielder Matt Thweatt made an impact for Lerna, when he swatted a solo home run off Zack Kintzer in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Thweatt went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk.

After the game, Lerna manager Morgan Tompsett applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.

Lerna has a record of 16-16, placing them second in the Pete Rose Little League Alex Rodriguez Division.
