Miller Excels, But Poly Win
|
The San Marin Mustangs got a sterling performance from catcher Bill Miller, but the Poly still prevailed, 7-5. Miller was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Riverside is 4th in the Hank Aaron Little League Bob Gibson Division with a record of 15-17.
One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the third inning. Facing San Marin hurler Elias Alvarez, Arkakara Shailaja hit a run-scoring single. The Poly went on to win.
"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Shailaja.
