Ridge Runners Stumble, Lose to Bison
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Eagle Rock Ridge Runners and Bighorn Bison get after it.
Bighorn third baseman Chris Crofts was a significant contributor in his team's 9-3 triumph over the Eagle Rock Ridge Runners. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Bison. Dave Ransom got the win, improving to 7-7. He held the Ridge Runners to 2 runs on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 0.
Bob Ferreira had a big 2-run double for the Bison in the bottom of the second inning. With Bighorn leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Evan Gerber and swatted a double to left. It was his 25th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bison ahead, 4-0.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Ferreira told the Bighorn Daily News.
Bighorn is now 35-46, Eagle Rock 36-46.
