Yokohama and Hanshin duked it out at Ballpark of Otofuke College and the Bay Stars came out victorious.

Yokohama starter Brian Kearns had a strong outing against the Hanshin Tigers at Ballpark of Otofuke College. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-1 win. Vince Winterer converted his 1st save in 2 tries.

It could have been a different outcome for Yokohama, had it not been for Nobuhito Kawakami, the 19-year old left fielder . Kawakami contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning to put Yokohama up, 2-0.

"I know we have our doubters," said Hanshin manager Paco Fernández. "But I still have high hopes for this team."

Even with the win, the Bay Stars have a dismal 19-40 record.
