Tatsuyuki Okumura left his imprint on the 16-3 Chunichi win against the Yokohama Bay Stars. Okumura, who leads the CL in runs scored with 47, was 1 for 2 with a home run and 4 walks, while scoring 4 runs. The win was Yukio Seki's in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Brian Kearns took the loss for Yokohama. Chunichi leads the Central Division by 3 games.

Chunichi used the timely hitting of Hidemitsu Kaneshiro to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Dragons on top, 4-0. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
