Crawfish Popped by Rattlers, 7-4
|
Enthusiastic fans came out to support the home team at Rattlers Field.
Victory Lakes catcher Esteban Mendoza had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Mendoza went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2, even as Mojave beat the Crawfish, 7-4. Robby Ruelas earned his 5th save in 6 chances.
The Rattlers got a big at-bat from catcher Chris Newell. For the game, Newell was 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave Mojave a 4-3 lead.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Newell.
The victory puts Mojave at 52-108.
