Franklin Cruz was outstanding against El Paso. The right-hander, who finished 3rd in the RCL in strikeouts with 333 in 2052, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Stogies 6-4 win. Danny Arias closed out the game, earning his 14th save. The defeat makes El Paso 29-41.

Cruz's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 9 strikeouts in 7 innings while allowing 2 hits. Cruz, who finished 4th in the RCL in strikeouts with 328 in 2051, goes to 7-4 on the year with 65 strikeouts.

"We had situations where we should have got some runs in, but we didn't get the runs in," said losing manager Lorenzo Castillo.
