Late Rally by Swallows Secures Win
The Tokyo Yakult Swallows did just enough to sneak past the Yomiuri Giants, 4-3, at Rebels Ballpark. Tokyo Yakult pitcher Nijiya Ishikawa earned player of the game honors. Tokyo Yakult reliever Kimitaka Hirano picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Michinori Hasegawa shouldered the loss. The Giants, now 7-12, have lost 4 in a row.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when shortstop Shinichi Taylor, who is tied for 7th in the CL in triples with 1, drew a walk. The Swallows went on to win.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Ishikawa told the Tokyo Yakult Herald.
