Marlins Absorb 5-3 Loss at Pipers Grove

The San Carlos Pipers knocked off the Media Luna Marlins by the score of 5-3. Dusty Sullivan provided some pop, going 2-for-3 with 1 home run. The win belonged to Carlos Lira in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Manuel Fernandez took the loss for Media Luna. Picking up the save was Omar Moreno. He's now 18 for 23 in save chances.
Had Sullivan not come through in the bottom of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Sullivan hit a run-scoring single. The Pipers took the lead, 4-3, and never looked back.
San Carlos manager Chris Santacroce praised his team's "no BS approach."
Despite the win, the Pipers still have a lousy 38-112 record.
