Swallows Walk Off with 4-3 Win
|
Tokyo Yakult beat Yokohama at Rebels Ballpark, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Prakoso Ernalia, who earned player of the game honors. The winner was Tokyo Yakult reliever Lee Lee, now 1-0. The loser was Teiichi Yamamoto. The Swallows saw their win-loss record go to 10-7. At the same time, the Bay Stars fell to 6-11.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Nijiya Ishikawa came to bat in the bottom of the tenth. Facing Yokohama pitcher Teiichi Yamamoto, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring double. It was a game-changer, putting Tokyo Yakult on top, 4-3.
"We did a lot of things right," said Ernalia.
