Marauders Top Tornadoes, 8-6
|
Kansas City got a terrific game from right fielder Ramon Tapia. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Maple, 8-6. Tapia went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs. Maple reliever Eric Foley picked up the win, while Simon Slama took the loss for Kansas City. Maple has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.
Baldassario Righini had a big 3-run home run for the Marauders in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Maple trailing 5-4 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a sinker from Simon Slama, who is rated as the 98th best prospect by BNN, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Marauders on top, 7-5.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Maple manager Daniel Dillon.
