Manhattan Slice right-hander Eric Jefcoat pitched a good game against the Mexico City Luchadores at The Royal Grounds, leading his team to victory, 5-2. The winner was Jefcoat. He threw 7.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Marco Huerta. Mario Mirabal picked up the save, his 18th.
Manhattan used a clutch at-bat from Gabe Bourdeau to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Slice ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I thought we played a nice game," Bourdeau told the Manhattan Herald. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
Mexico City, at 38-30, has lost 4 straight.
