The Walnut Creek Warriors beat the Chicago Eclipse in a game featuring much hitting but not much pitching. The final score was 13-9, Warriors. One of the hitting stars was first baseman Kevin McArdle. McArdle, who is a three-time All-Star, went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Walnut Creek reliever Keith Sill was the winner. His record is now 2-3. The losing pitcher was Henry Henshaw. At 53-28, the Warriors find themselves in first place in the Thurman Munson League West Division.

Walnut Creek used a well-timed hit by Noah Chadick to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Warriors ahead, 10-8. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it was important.

"It was great to come out and swing the bats," McArdle told the Walnut Creek Gazette.
