5-1 Triumph Runs Steelhounds Streak to 14 Games
|
Brighton starter Dave Dunham put a stranglehold on the Kingston offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Steelhounds to a 5-1 win. Dunham got the win, improving to 11-3. He gave up 4 hits and walked 5 over 5.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Earning his 3rd save for Brighton was Hector Lopez.
The Steelhounds got a big at-bat from shortstop Johnny Magana. For the game, Magana was 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 22nd double of the season gave Brighton a 2-1 lead.
"It all comes down to competing and our guys love to compete," said Steelhounds manager Freddie Baseball.
Brighton has now won 14 straight, while the Beats have lost 3 in a row.
