Saitama Seibu and Tohoku Rakuten duked it out at Field of the Chariots and the Lions came out victorious.

Yoshikatsu Tomita added some punch to the Saitama Seibu offense, helping them outmuscle the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles, 11-8. In the game, Tomita, who is tied for 8th in the PL in runs scored with 15, was 3-4 with a home run, a triple, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Tommie Jaffray, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 5 runs on 9 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 12. His record now stands at 2-3.
