Toreros Lose as Tornadoes Stage Late Rally
The Kansas City Tornadoes overcame a pretty good performance by Cabo San Lucas right fielder Dennis Allen, beating the Toreros, 7-5, at Field de Los Layendas. Allen was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winner in relief was Allan Goodwin. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Tony Miguel earned save number 2 this season.

Kansas City used the timely hitting of Victor Ayala to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Tornadoes on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Not the sexiest win," said Tornadoes manager Todd Belcher, "but I'll take it."

The win moves Kansas City to a record of 2-5.
