Victory Over Marines Takes Saitama Seibu to 7-4
The Saitama Seibu Lions defeated the Chiba Lotte Marines, 5-1, at Ballpark of Nasu College. Saitama Seibu second baseman Bill Erickson was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 4-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Losses have been few and far between for the Marines, who are now 9-2.

Erickson had a key at-bat for Saitama Seibu early in the game. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was his 16th hit of the season and gave Saitama Seibu an early 1-0 lead.

"We take it day by day here," said Erickson, "and today was a good one for us."
