In a low-scoring contest between the Walnut Creek Warriors and the El Paso Mavericks, Willie Borrero was the X factor. The Walnut Creek right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The save went to Ray Clemens, number 24 for him. The Warriors improved their record to 48-32 with the win over El Paso.

Kevin McArdle, who finished 4th in the RCL in OPS with 1.012 in 2062, had a direct impact on the outcome. McArdle contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Walnut Creek up, 3-1.
