Mavericks Need Extra Frames to Get Past Butterflies
The Corral was host to some intense drama.

Jeff Gifford led the charge as the El Paso Mavericks defeated the Pennsylvania Butterflies, 5-3, in 12 innings at The Corral. Gifford, who is tied for 7th in the RCL in RBI with 51, went 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Mavericks raised their record to 27-39.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 12th. With two out, Gifford hit a fastball from Juan Cisneros for a 2-run home run. The Mavericks, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"The crowd was boisterous tonight," said Gifford.
