Due in large part to second baseman Jeff Holmes, the Buffalo Bison sunk the West Island Jazz, 5-4. Holmes went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times. Steve Hoefling, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 16th save. The Bison have now won 4 straight.

Holmes had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a full count cutter from Manny Domenech, he banged a solo home run to left-center, giving the Bison a 5-4 lead. It was the 12th home run of the year for Holmes.

Holmes told reporters after the game: "Took some doing, but we got it done."
