Kimaiyo Leads Moonshiners to Win
The Asheville Moonshiners topped the Walnut Creek Warriors, 7-6, at Castlerock Field. Asheville right fielder Amezwaru Kimaiyo was a spark plug for the offense. He went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Justin Dolan earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 2-1. Steven Shiplack closed it out for his 17th save.

Paul Heley was 2-4 with 2 singles for Asheville. The two-time Gold Glove Award winner had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Darren Rogers. It was his 28th RBI of the season.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Heley told the Asheville Today. "Whatever it takes."

Asheville now sports a record of 34-29.
