Jacksonville Pilots starter Steve Dorff was on his game, helping his team beat the Buffalo Bison, 4-2. Reliever Griff Gardner picked up the win. His record improves to 2-2. Jose Patino, who is tied for 10th in the TML in innings pitched with 77.1, took the loss. Hisham Kontar, who finished 5th in the TML in saves with 35 last year, earned the save for Jacksonville.

Jacksonville took a 3-2 lead on Mike Daniel's 10th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Daniel hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Buffalo pitcher Jose Patino visibly frustrated.

"We have a lot of confidence in Steve," said Jacksonville manager Bill Lomax.

The Pilots win now puts them at 36-26.
