Armada Capture Close Win
|
The inspired effort of San Francisco shortstop Geoff Raines was not enough to prevent a loss, 8-7, to the Quebec Armada. Raines went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Reliever Pat Neumann picked up the win. His record improves to 4-2. Dakson Rocket, who finished 3rd in the RCL in saves with 35 in 2059, took the loss. The win puts Quebec at 41-29 this season.
The decisive blow was delivered by Dan Nieman in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Dakson Rocket to win the game for Quebec. The home crowd went nuts.
"That was high adrenalin and it was fun," Nieman said.
